Miller Valentine Focuses on Florida

 

Miller Valentine Construction, in partnership with MV Investment, is expanding in Florida with a newly completed facility in Ormond Beach and a new development underway in Tallahassee. CubeSmart Self Storage will manage the new facility in Ormond Beach and will oversee lease-up and management of the facility underway in Tallahassee. That project is scheduled to open in late 2022. 

 

Snapbox Buys Two South Florida Stores

 

A Philadelphia-based self storage operator said Thursday that it bought two recently built storage facilities from South Florida developers.

Snapbox Self Storage paid $20.4 million for two self storage facilities in south Florida. The seller of a facility in Fort Lauderdale was CH SS Fund-Storsafe Fort Lauderdale Poinciana Park LLC. In a second deal, Snapbox paid $18 million for a facility in Miami. The seller was a development entity known as 19301 West Dixie LLC.

 

Extra Space Closes Bridge Loan

 

Extra Space Storage has closed a $23.3 million bridge loan for a property in Santa Rosa, California. Extra Space Storage launched its bridge loan program in 2019 to provide short-term capital to current or prospective third party platform customers.

Self Storage India Opens in New Delhi

 

Self Storage India has opened its newest facility in Dwarka, New Delhi. The facility is adjacent to the India International Convention & Expo Centre, one of Asia’s largest convention facilities. Self Storage India began in 2013 and is the country’s first and largest self storage company. 

 

Texas’ Perfecto Self Storage Sells

 

Berkshire Hathaway managed the sale of Perfecto Self Storage in Brownsville, Texas. Cameron Vale, Andrew Plunkett, and Parker Sweet represented the seller, a private regional developer, and secured the private national buyer.

 

U-Haul Expanding in Texas, Virginia

 

U-Haul Moving & Storage has the following projects underway:

U-Haul Moving & Storage at Marshall Avenue and Whaley Street in Longview, Texas, will begin a $4.8 million expansion, according to the Longview News-Journal. The facility has been in operation since 1979.

U-Haul Moving & Storage will develop storage on 9 acres in Danville, Virginia, according to Virginia Business. The storage facility will open in 2023.

 

South African REIT Buying Storage

 

Cape Town, South Africa-based Stor-Age Property REIT has raised R575 million to fund additional acquisitions in the U.K. The company has already completed the purchase of a four-property portfolio for £37.5 million. Stor-Age was established in 2006 by the Lucas family.

 

Marcus & Millichap Brokers St. Louis Deal

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of Life Storage (managed) in St. Louis, Missouri. Sean Delaney marketed the property on behalf of a local limited liability company and secured a Texas-based limited liability company as the buyer.

 

Storage King Adds Florida Store

 

Andover Properties acquired Parkmore Storage in Milton, Florida. The Storage King USA portfolio now totals 122 facilities in 16 states with 31 in Florida.

 

Amazing Spaces Building in Houston

 

Amazing Spaces Storage Centers has broken ground on a new facility in Houston, Texas. It is the company’s 6th storage property.

 

Right Move Storage Coming to Houston

 

LandPark Advisors, LLC acquired a self storage facility in Houston, Texas formerly known as Easy Self Storage. The property will be rebranded to Right Move Storage.

 

Mequity Divests Two Storage Properties

 

Mequity Cos. has sold a two-property self storage portfolio in Atlanta, Georgia, to Extra Space Storage. The portfolio was previously managed by CubeSmart. The LeClaire-Schlosser Group of Marcus & Millichap represented both parties in the deal. The properties are located in Marietta and Tucker, Georgia.

 

Atlantic Converting Florida Nightclub

 

Atlantic Self Storage intended to convert a former Jacksonville, Florida, nightclub into self storage, according to News4Jax. Atlantic bought the property in September.

 

US Storage to Manage Gelt Property

 

Gelt Inc. has purchased a self storage asset in La Crescenta, California for $26 million. US Storage Centers will manage the facility.

 

Simply Grows in Texas

 

Simply Self Storage has acquired two self storage properties in Dallas and Houston. Simply now has 33 properties in the state.
