StorageMart Issues Vaccine Challenge

 

StorageMart Self Storage is offering a $100 cash bonus to U.S. employees who are fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021. The company has also issued a challenge to the self storage industry to encourage Covid-19 vaccinations by incentivizing employees to become fully vaccinated.

“Stopping the virus takes everyone, and the vaccine is a safe and effective tool to help us do that,” said CEO Cris Burnam. “The Covid-19 vaccine is now widely available, and we want to encourage everyone who can get it to do so.”  

Burnam challenged industry peers to rise to the occasion.

“Our employees carried our industry through a tough time. I challenge every self storage operator to follow suit and incentivize their teams to become fully vaccinated against this virus.” 

 

Charity Storage Reorganizes Leadership

 

Charity Storage has reorganized the nonprofit’s operating structure with key leadership changes. Kerry Henriksen has resigned as executive director.

Mariela Pattinson resigned as director of marketing and development. Mario Macaluso, a current board member, will serve as program manager to enroll storage operators in the program.

 

Compass Adds Boat & RV Center

 

Compass Self Storage has acquired a boat and RV parking center in St. Augustine, Florida, and branded it Compass Boat & RV Storage.

 

Pogoda Adds 5 to Portfolio

 

Pogoda Companies has added five more properties to its portfolio. Three were in the Grand Rapids, Michigan MSA and two were in the Detroit, Michigan MSA. Each has been rebranded under Pogoda’s trademarked name: National Storage Centers.

 

SkyView Brokers Sales

 

SkyView Advisors brokered the following sales:

Summit Peak self storage portfolio located in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, MSA. Scott Schoettlin and Ryan Clark represented the seller.

Arlington Self Storage in Indianapolis, Indiana. Hunter Sells and Clark represented the seller.

 

Marcus & Millichap Conducts Utah, Oklahoma Sales

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the following sales:

Bethany Self Storage in Bethany, Oklahoma. Brandon Karr and Danny Cunningham had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a limited liability company. 

Herriman Storage in Herriman Utah and Parkway Storage in Orem, Utah. The LeClaire-Schlosser Group of Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale with Jordan Farrer and Adam Schlosser representing the seller. The buyer was Public Storage.

Bellomy Stays Busy in Texas

 

Bellomy & Co. brokered the following sales:

Space Self Storage in Corpus Christi, Texas. Bill Bellomy and Michael Johnson represented Divisidero Property LLC, the Austin, Texas-based seller. The team also procured the New York-based buyer, Andover Properties.

CubeSmart Self Storage in Irving, Texas. Bellomy and Johnson represented 3450 Willow Creek LLC, the Southlake, Texas-based seller. The team also procured the New York based buyer, Andover Properties.

 

SROA Buys StayLock

 

An investment fund managed by SROA Capital LLC, which operates the Storage Rentals of America and Storage Zone brands, has acquired StayLock Storage from investment firm Cequel III and private-equity company Thompson Street Capital Partners. StayLock operates 79 facilities in eight states. Its 50 employees are expected to transition to SROA, and the facilities will be rebranded as Storage Rentals of America.

 

West Coast Opens Oregon Store

 

West Coast Self-Storage has opened a storage facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. The business is named West Coast Self-Storage Hillsboro.
