Valley Mini sells in Colorado


The LeClaire Group of Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of Valley Mini Storage, a 72,250 square foot storage facility located in Fountain, Colorado.

Valley Mini Storage consists of 563 climate and non-climate controlled units.

Adam Schlosser, senior vice president investments, in the Denver office, and Charles "Chico" LeClaire, executive managing director investments, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private family trust. A national self storage REIT was the buyer.


SecureSpace opens in San Fernando Valley


SecureSpace Self Storage has opened a new self storage facility in Camarillo, California, according to the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.

The property, developed by InSite Property Group and located at 5300 Adolfo Road, has a 75,000 square feet of climate-controlled, ground level self storage units. The second floor consists of 75,000 square feet of office space available for lease.

SecureSpace is headquartered in Redondo Beach.


Johnson joins G5


Doug Johnson has joined Bend, Oregon-based digital marketing firm G5 as chief revenue officer.

Johnson will oversee the sales, marketing and customer experience organizations to drive net annual recurring revenue growth through new bookings, upsells and renewals, while also managing retention.

Johnson was previously the CEO at Jobalign, an hourly recruiting technology company. He has built, tested and refined a solution for enterprise customers in the senior living, hospitality, food services, and building maintenance industries. Prior to Jobalign, Johnson was CEO at AccessLine Communications.


Ideal buys 3-property portfolio in Pennsylvania


Ideal Property Group, a New York City-based investment firm, has acquired the three-property portfolio of Stop & Store self storage properties in Pennsylvania for $5.2 million. Located in in Dillsburg, York and Dover, the properties total 94,976 net rentable square feet and were 75.6% leased at the time of sale.

Mike Mele, Robert Bloch and Noah Obuchowski of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, an individual private owner, in the transaction.


Apple opens in Thunder Bay, Ontario


Apple Self Storage has opened a new self storage facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Apple Self Storage Thunder Bay is located in a converted Zellers store in the Northwood Park Shopping Plaza at 110 Redwood Ave. W.

This new Apple Self Storage location offers 30,000 square feet of climate-controlled, ground-floor self storage space.

Apple Self Storage operates 34 self storage facilities. It is a family-owned company established in 1975.


U-Haul opens converted Kmart in Memphis


U-Haul Moving & Storage of Raleigh has opened at 3201 Austin Peay Highway in Memphis, Tennessee.

The facility has 700 climate-controlled units in a former Kmart store.


StorQuest opens in Santa Maria, California


The William Warren Group’s StorQuest Self Storage has opened a new, 105,000-square-foot facility in Santa Maria, California.

Development began in 2019 on the 3.6-acre site located at 1400 W. Betteravia Street. The project was financed by a $10.5 million construction loan from Pacific Western Bank.


New Federal Way storage managed by West Coast


Federal Way Supreme Self Storage has opened at 35200 Pacific Highway South in Federal Way, Washington.

The facility was designed by Stephen Bourne of Seattle-based Site + Plan + Mix LLC, and was developed CPSG Self Storage Facility XI, LLC of Redmond, Washington. The property features 758 units totaling 107,485 square feet of rentable storage space and 110 RV/boat storage spaces.  

Federal Way Supreme Self Storage offers both indoor, ground-level storage units and drive-up units.

The facility was built by JPR Construction of Issaquah, Washington, and is managed by West Coast Self-Storage Group.

West Coast Self-Storage Group is a self storage property management, acquisition, and development company headquartered in Everett, Washington. The company currently has 66 managed and owned locations with fifty stores in Washington, eight stores in Oregon, and eight stores in California.


10 Federal sells original asset


10 Federal Self Storage Acquisition Company 1, LLC  has sold the second property from its original 10 property portfolio. The facility is located at 1308 South Point Rd in Belmont, North Carolina for $2,475,000. 10FSSAC1 acquired the Belmont asset almost 3 years earlier for $1,300,000 realizing a 54% IRR for the equity invested in that individual investment.

Raleigh, North Carolina-based 10 Federal acquires, renovates and converts self storage properties to 10 Federal's unmanned, automated platform.


Pogoda adds 3 to management, launches online rentals


Pogoda Companies has added three properties in Michigan to its growing management portfolio. National Storage Centers - Royal Oak, A Plus Self Storage - Flint, and A Plus Self Storage - Swartz Creek are now managed by Pogoda Management Co.

National Storage Centers – Royal Oak offers 293 units with a mix of multi-story heated interior spaces, ground level heated drive up spaces, 20 RV/Boat parking spots in 33,373 square feet of rentable space.

A Plus Self Storage – Flint comprises 594 units with a mix of climate controlled and drive up spaces, as well 29 RV/Boat parking spots. The facility offers a total of 94,610 square feet of rentable space.

A Plus Self Storage – Swartz Creek comprises 585 units with a mix of climate controlled and drive up spaces, as well 14 asphalt RV/Boat parking spots. The facility offers a total of 94,555 square feet of rentable space.

Pogoda Management Co. is Michigan's largest self storage owner/operator, and one of the largest in the U.S., with over 3.5 million square feet of self storage space in 45 storage centers in both Michigan and Ohio. The firm operates under the trademarked name National Storage Centers, as well as others.
