Capco Contracting brings cheer to San Antonio kids

 

Capco General Contracting provided gifts for 100 children during its annual toy drive for the Salvation Army.

Each year Capco supports the Salvation Army through its Angel Tree program, which aims to ensure that all children in San Antonio, Texas, have a gift underneath their tree on Christmas morning. The first year Capco participated, the company adopted 60 angels.

“We enjoyed getting in the holiday spirit collecting toys, clothes, bicycles, scooters and so many other amazing fits to help make sure every child is reminded of the magic of the holidays,” said Jennifer Danuff, marketing manager.

Employees, suppliers and subcontractors pitched in to donate gifts.

San Antonio, Texas-based Capco General Contracting began self storage construction in 1985 and now serves other commercial construction clients.

 

Dodge joins Life Storage

 

Chuck Dodge has been named sales manager for Life Storage Solutions. As a member of the third-party management team, Dodge will focus on driving new business to the platform that manages over 300 stores.

Most recently, Dodge was principal and business development specialist at Revelant Technologies, an independent IT professional services firm primarily focused in the Salesforce ecosystem. Prior to Revelant, Dodge spent nearly 9 years as an account executive at Bader Company, a provider of specialty insurance products primarily to the self storage industry.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dodge holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Dayton and maintains his Property and Casualty insurance license.

 

Marcus & Millichap brokers deals in TX, WI

 

Marcus & Millichap has brokered the following transactions:

Self Storage Solutions, a 83,850-square foot self storage facility in Burleson, Texas, near Fort Worth, was marketed and sold by Brandon Karr, senior vice president investments and Danny Cunningham, senior associate. The seller was a private family partnership. The buyer was also secured by Karr and Cunningham. 

Self Storage Solutions is located at 2032 FM917 in Burleson. Built in phases between 2000 and 2018, the property encompasses three individual parcels. In early 2018, approximately 164 new drive-up units were constructed.

Somerset Mini Storage, a 30,708 square foot storage facility located in Somerset, Wisconsin, was marketing and sold by The LeClaire Group of Marcus & Millichap.

Chris Kampmeyer, investment associate, Adam Schlosser, senior vice president investments, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller.

Somerset Mini Storage consists of 172 non-climate controlled units, 28 rentable outdoor parking spaces, and land for new development. Somerset Mini Storage is located off WI 35 near Hwy 64.

 

Talonvest hosts panel at NYSSA forum

 

Talonvest Capital will host “Capital Markets 2020: How Lenders and Investors are Adjusting to the Current Market” at the NYSSA Investment Forum in New York City January 7th.  Panelists include Brandon Goetzman of blue Vista, James Barry of SmartStop, and Brandon England of C-III.

Wells Fargo’s head of real estate capital markets, Doug Mazer, will participated in a conference interview with Talonvest principal Tom Sherlock.

 

FL Sears being converted to storage

 

A former Sears building at the DeSoto Square Mall in Bradenton, Florida, is being converted into self storage. MCG Bradenton Sears LLC, registered to Madison Capital Group of Charlotte, North Carolina, filed a permit with Manatee County for interior demolition and renovation into Go Store It Self Storage, according to the Herald Tribune.

Madison Capital Group bought the Sears building in March for $6.75 million. Madison Capital is the parent company of Go Store It.

The 96,685-square-foot building housed Sears from the mall’s opening in 1973 until early 2019.

 

Dymon moves forward with Ottawa project

 

Dymon Storage in Canada received planning committee approval for a six-story self storage facility near Merivale Road in Ottawa.

If approved by council, Dymon Storage will build the facility at 1375 Clyde Avenue. It will be the Ottawa-based company’s 12th location in the region, according to Ottawa Citizen.

 

Boxed Up expands 3 facilities

 

Boxed Up Self-Storage in Illinois recently expanded all three of its locations, establishing 350 new units, according to the Rockford Register Star.

Boxed Up has locations in Poplar Grove, Loves Park and Rockford, Illinois. The expansions were made in response to increased demand throughout Winnebago County.

 

PTI names Brooks managing director

 

PTI Security Systems has named Thomas Brooks managing director.

Brooks joined PTI as the vice president of sales in 2016. He has more than 15 years of senior sales roles gained within the self storage industry. Prior to joining PTI, Brooks worked for several Vista Equity Partners portfolio companies, including Greenway Health and Sunquest Information Systems. Brooks has also served within the self storage industry for both DBCI and Express Building Systems. PTI Security Systems provides security products to the self storage industry.

 

Bellomy sells Select Climate Storage

 

Bellomy & Co. brokered the sale of Select Climate Storage in Mexia, Texas, east of Waco. The facility has 89 units in 11,285 NRSF. Built in 2013, the facility fronts TX-14 and has ample expansion room.

Bill Bellomy and Michael Johnson of Bellomy & Co. represented the local seller, Select Climate Storage, LLC. They also procured the buyer, Ideal Self Storage of Waco. Ideal Self Storage now has six locations throughout Texas.

 

NAI Horizon brokers sale in AZ

 

NAI Horizon brokered the sale of Triple Nichol Storage, 3586 E. U.S. Highway 60 in Miami, Arizona.

Senior vice president Denise Nunez represented the seller, Georgeanna Jones of Durango, Colorado, in the $1.55 million sale. The buyer was TAJ Apex Consulting Group, LLC of Encino, California.

Triple Nichol Storage Center was built in 1980 with additional containers added and refurbished throughout the years, most recently in 2017 and 2018. The site is 3.77 acres. The facility includes 24,928 RSF with 53 outside parking spaces for a total of 289 units.
