SmarterSpace Storage completed its third facility in Wildwood/The Villages, Florida. ARCO/Murray built the facility and Extra Space Storage will manage the property.

Boardwalk Development Group received a certificate of occupancy for its one-of-a-kind storage facility in Canton, Georgia. The asset features an open box roof design. 

 

Public Storage, Ki Corp. Close In on Abacus

 

Public Storage and Ki Corporation are moving a step closer in their $1.41 billion takeover bid of an Australian storage company. Abacus Storage King granted the pair access to examine the company’s books and records to evaluate an acquisition proposal. Abacus rejected the group’s offer in May, but in June the consortium raised its bid.

Sentry Self Storage Management will manage the Your Extra Storage portfolio of three properties in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Marcus & Millichap brokered the following sales:

 

• Stadium Self Storage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Reframe Holdings.

• Extra Space (managed) in Fremont, California. 

• Storage development site in Wells, Maine, to Brady Sullivan Properties and True Storage.

 

Gantry Arranges Loan in Hawaii

 

Gantry secured a $10 million loan to refinance a storage facility in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii. The facility is managed by Public Storage.

 

JCPenney to be Converted to Storage

 

A former JCPenney building at Gateway Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida, will be converted to storage. Global Storage Partners owns the property and Extra Space Storage will operate the facility, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. 

 

UnConference Planned for 2026

 

The 2026 Self Storage Hawai’i unconference will be June 15-19 at the Outrigger Kāʻanapali Beach Resort. The event launched in 2009.
