10 Federal Tennis Classic Returns

 

The 10 Federal Fall Tennis Classic returns to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to raise money for the UNC Fitch Center for Pediatric Rehabilitation. The charity tennis tournament will be held Nov. 4-5, 2023, at Chapel Hill Tennis Club and features junior tennis players, ages 10-18. The inaugural tournament in 2022 raised over $20,000.

Texas SSA Names Leaders

 

The Texas Self Storage Association elected the 2023-24 executive committee and welcomed new board members. The executive committee is: Andrew Guinn, president, Ross Pfeifer, vice president, John McAfee, treasurer, Raheem Amer, secretary, and Michael Meylor, immediate past president. New board members are Nathan Bennett, Brian Cisarik, and Clayton Smith. Dave Knobler was reelected.

 

Lindsey Brokers North Carolina Sale

 

Lindsey Self Storage Group brokered the sale of Premier Self Storage in Booneville, North Carolina, to a private buyer. John Lindsey managed the transaction.

 

Forge Has Projects in 11 New States

 

Forge Building Company has expanded into 11 new states. The expansion includes projects in Delaware, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, New York and Florida. Forge Building Company is a steel building expert.

 

Talonvest Aids Washington Sale

 

Talonvest Capital provided financing for the $8.8 million sale of a self storage development in Covington, Washington, for Gramor Development.

 

Marcus & Millichap Brokers Northeast Deal

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of a Life Storage (managed) property in Merrimack, New Hampshire. Nathan Coe, Brett Hatcher and Gabriel Coe marketed the property on behalf of an LLC.

 

Public Storage Launches Insurance Program

 

Public Storage launched the Savvy Storage Insurance Program offering tenant insurance. The program is offered through PSCC Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Public Storage, which also administers the Orange Door Storage Insurance Program. PSCC is integrating with Storable as it rolls out the Savvy program in November.

 

Matheny Named SpareBox CEO

 

SpareBox Storage appointed Kate Matheny as CEO. Matheny was previously CFO and chief investment officer. SpareBox also named co-founder Chuck James as president and COO. SpareBox has 108 stores.

 

Trachte Expands Manufacturing Capacity

 

Trachte Building Systems opened two new buildings in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The buildings are a sheet metal plant and the new Stephen Pagelow Distribution Center. The new buildings add 260,000 square feet to the company’s facilities, which employ 300 people.

 

Meridian Makes Kansas Sale

 

Meridian Storage Group brokered the sale of Ertl Self Storage in Lawrence, Kansas.

 

Safeguard Grows in Big Apple

 

Safeguard Self Storage acquired a facility in Queens, New York. Triangle Equities developed the property, which is one of the largest in the Safeguard portfolio.

 

SkyView Makes Los Angeles Deal

 

SkyView Advisors brokered the sale of Long Beach Storage Center in the Los Angeles, California, MSA. Andrew Sacks, Richard Riddle and Scott Schoettlin brokered the deal.
