Extra Space Completes Food Drive

 

Extra Space Storage employees from across the United States participated in a virtual food drive in partnership with Feeding America and its network of food banks. Extra Space employees raised over $50,000 in two weeks, with the company matching employee donations.

“We are grateful to our generous employees for making this donation possible,” said Jeff Norman, Extra Space Storage senior vice president and chair of the company’s sustainability committee.  “No one should go without a meal, which is why we created this fundraiser to give back to the local communities in our 100+ markets across the country.”

 

Devon Promotes Four Employees

 

Devon Self Storage has promoted four employees.

Greg Mackay has been named president – acquisitions & construction. Mackay has been with Devon for 28 years holding numerous positions of responsibility, including previously running Devon’s portfolio of 8 European sites. Shannon Dodge has been named senior vice president – construction. Ronitris (Roni) Murry has been named vice president – assistant controller. Mike Olson has been promoted to vice president – acquisitions.

 

Storage King Grows in Michigan

 

Andover Properties acquired two properties in the Detroit, Michigan MSA. The self storage facilities are in Waterford Township and Pontiac. The properties will be rebranded under the Storage King USA brand, which now totals 117 facilities.

 

Kansas Storage Goes to California Buyer

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of Quality Mini Storage in Independence, Kansas. Sean M. Delaney and Robert Cook had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a local limited liability company, and also represented the buyer, a California-based limited liability company.

 

Moove In Expands in Massachusetts

 

Moove In Self Storage has acquired The Hamptons Self Storage in Northampton, Massachusetts. Moove In now has 44 locations. Investment Real Estate Management, LLC will manage the property under the Moove In Self Storage brand.

 

U-Stor-It Buys Lease-Up

 

Buchanan Street Partners acquired a self storage facility in Vista, California, for $34 million. Chicago Capital Funds, the facility’s developer and manager, sold the property during lease-up. The seller will continue to manage the property under its U-Stor-It brand.

 

Smartlock Converting Missouri Retail

 

Smartlock Self Storage plans to convert a former retail location in Kirksville, Missouri, to a self storage facility, according to KTVO.

 

Carefree Sells in Texas

 

Dominus Commercial brokered the sale of Carefree Storage in Wylie, Texas. The Argus team of Chad Snyder and Tyler Trahant represented the buyer, Barry Raber. This was the 28^th self storage deal in 2021 for the north Texas Argus team.
