Talonvest Secures Construction Loan

 

Talonvest Capital, Inc. and its client, 1784 Capital Holdings, closed a $45.5 million construction loan for the ground-up development of a self storage facility in Montgomery County, Maryland, adjacent to the nation’s capital. The Talonvest team members responsible for the assignment included Jim Davies, Erich Pryor, Mason Brusseau, and Tom Sherlock. 

 

Danner Joins Bancap

 

Garrett Danner has joined the self storage investment team at Bancap Self Storage Group. Danner was previously vice president of debt & structured finance at CBRE. Danner is a graduate of UCLA where he led the water polo team to two National Championships. He also has a master’s degree from Durham University Business School.

 

VanWest Increases North Carolina Holdings

 

VanWest Partners has purchased a two-property self storage portfolio in North Carolina from a private investor. The facilities are in Shelby and Hickory.

The properties will be rebranded under the company’s ClearHome Self Storage management portfolio.

 

Pogoda Adds More Michigan Properties

 

Pogoda Companies added five properties to its self storage portfolio, three in the Grand Rapids, Michigan MSA and two in the Detroit MSA. Each has been rebranded under Pogoda’s trademarked name: National Storage Centers.

 

Storage Star Grows in Texas

 

Storage Star purchased a facility in Tomball, Texas, its 32nd self storage facility and 11th in the state of Texas.

 

Valley Storage Adds Three Facilities

 

Valley Storage has added three new self storage facilities. Two are in Hickory, North Carolina, and the third is in Strongsville, Ohio, according to the Hickory Daily Record.

 

True Storage to Redevelop in Wisconsin

 

True Storage Inc. has submitted an application to redevelop the former Shopko building in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, to self storage, according to the Daily Jefferson County Union.

 

SpareBox Grows in Arkansas, Texas

 

SpareBox Storage acquired five stabilized properties in Arkansas and Texas. With this acquisition, Arkansas became the sixth state in the SpareBox portfolio. The national footprint now consists of 62 stores.

 

Janus Acquires DBCI

 

Janus International Group, Inc. will acquire DBCI, a manufacturer of steel roll-up doors and building products for the commercial and self storage industries and part of Cornerstone Building Brands. DBCI is headquartered in Douglasville, Georgia, and employs 240 people.

 

Storage Authority Coming to Virginia Beach

 

Storage Authority awarded its fourth franchise of the year. Mark and Christi Scholefield will build their Storage Authority self storage in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Based in Sarasota, Florida, Storage Authority is the only franchise in the industry.

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of Premier Boat & RV Storage in St. Augustine, Florida,

Nathan Coe, Brett R. Hatcher, and Gabriel Coe had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, and they secured the buyer in the transaction. Ryan Nee assisted in closing this transaction. 

 

Oklahoma City Gaining Storage

 

The Bartlesville, Oklahoma, planning commission, approval a site development plan for a new self storage facility to be developed by Richard Smith, according to the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise.
