StorTropolis Self-Storage opened a facility in Olathe, Kansas. StorTropolis is affiliated with Hunt Midwest, a Kansas City privately held real estate development company.

 

 

 

 

 

NSSA President Fritts Passes Away

 

Charlie Fritts, president of the Northeast Self Storage Association, passed away Aug. 11 at the age of 68. Fritts spent a decade with Life Storage Inc. before joining Storage Investment Management Inc. as a partner. He became CEO and president in 2018.

 

StorSafe Adds StoreEase Call Center

 

StorSafe Self Storage expanded its partnership with StoreEase Virtual Management to integrate StoreEase’s call center software into all of its facilities.  

 

NSA Names New Board Member

 

National Storage Affiliates Trust appointed Warren Allan to its board. Allan is the co-owner of Optivest Properties, one of NSA’s founding PROs. Mark Van Mourick has retired from the board. He served on NSA’s board since inception.

 

Storable Celebrates 10 Million Units

 

Storable has reached 10 million self storage units managed across its platforms. To celebrate, Storable dedicated $10,000 to philanthropic efforts, including Eden: People+Planet and the Storage Gives’ water program.

 

Spartan Adds Facility Near UGA

 

Spartan Investment Group acquired a facility in Athens, Georgia, the company’s 19th project in the state.

 

Glassmyer Joins IREGC

 

Jennifer Glassmyer has joined The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies as director of administration and events. Glassmyer will serve both IREGC and Pink Power, an organization founded by Denise Gilliland, that raises money for local breast cancer patients.

 

Five Star Adds in North Dakota

 

Five Star Storage acquired a new facility in Mandan, North Dakota. The facility is one of the largest in the state.

 

Peterson Building Virginia Facility

Peterson Companies broke ground on Blacksburg Self Storage in Montgomery County, Virginia. CubeSmart will manage the facility.

 

BlueGate Names COO

 

BlueGate Boat & RV Storage, an affiliate of Madison Capital Group, named JC Reed as chief operating officer.
