DXD Greets Maui with Aloha

DXD Capital is building a self storage facility in Maui, Hawaii, with scheduled opening in early 2025. Extra Space Storage will manage the facility.

StorageBlue Portfolio Sells

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of a StorageBlue portfolio in northern New Jersey. The facilities are in Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City, Newark and Garfield.

Global Rejects Etude’s Advances

Global Self Storage Inc.’s board of directors unanimously rejected an unsolicited acquisition bid from Etude Storage Partners to acquire all outstanding shares of common stock of the company for $6.15 per share.

1784 Secures Loan

1784 Holdings secured a $36 million loan for a storage facility in Hawthorne, California.

Yardi: Performance Continues Decline

Self storage performance remains on a downward trajectory with the slowdown in the housing market leading to weaker demand, according to Yardi’s latest national self storage report. Average annualized rents are down 4.5% year-over-year.

Space Shop to Manage Georgia Site

The Space Shop Self Storage will provide third-party management to a facility in Dallas, Georgia. The new facility was built by AJAX Construction.

KO Storage acquired a facility in Farmington, Missouri, its 30th in the state.

Rytec Opens High-Tech Manufacturing

Rytec Corporation has opened a new state-of-the-art Smart Factory in Jackson, Wisconsin, equipped with robotics and semi-automated production machines. Rytec makes high-performance doors for self storage.

Janus Buys Terminal Maintenance Company

Janus International Group acquired Terminal Maintenance and Construction, a provider of terminal maintenance services for the trucking industry. The acquisition will support the growth of Janus’s facility maintenance division.
