SkyView Closes Central California Portfolio

 

SkyView Advisors closed a Central California self storage portfolio that includes four assets managed by StorQuest. The properties are in the Modesto-Merced MSA. Scott Schoettlin closed the deal.

 

 

 

Storage Structures Acquired by Manufacturer

 

Central States Manufacturing, Inc. has acquired Storage Structures, Inc. Richard Allen will continue as president of Storage Structures. Central States Manufacturing is an Arkansas-based manufacturer of metal building components and packages. The company is 100% employee-owned with over 1,200 employees and 11 manufacturing facilities.

 

Marcus & Millichap Active in Texas

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the following sales:

•    Greenkey Storage – Pasadena located in Houston, Texas. Dave Knobler and Charles "Chico" LeClaire marketed the property on behalf of a Houston-based LLC and secured the Houston-based buyer.
•    Stuff Hotel in Denton, Texas. Brandon Karr, Jon Danklefs and Danny Cunningham marketed the property on behalf of a limited liability company. Danklefs found the buyer, a limited liability company.
•    Budget Self Storage in Pleasanton, Texas. Danklefs marketed the property on behalf of a limited liability company and found the buyer, also a limited liability company.

 

Inland, Devon Open Northeast Projects

 

Inland Private Capital Corporation and Devon Self Storage Holdings LLC opened two conversion storage facilities in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Hazlet, New Jersey. The projects are part of Self-Storage Qualified Opportunity Fund, L.L.C., an IPC-sponsored Qualified Opportunity Fund.

 

Liberty Opens Alabama Asset

 
Liberty Investment Properties has opened a facility in Hoover, Alabama. The facility uses StoreEase Virtual Management and Nokē Smart Entry

 

Boyle Appointed CIO

 

Public Storage has appointed Tom Boyle, the company’s chief financial officer, to also serve as its chief investment officer. Boyle’s responsibilities will include development, redevelopment, acquisitions, asset management, and third-party management. Boyle joined Public Storage in 2016.

 

Andover Buys Dallas Property

 

Andover Properties acquired Move-It Storage Dallas, Texas, from National Storage Affiliates. The property will be rebranded to the Storage King USA brand.

 

IRE, Moove In Adds Team

 

Investment Real Estate and Moove In Self Storage hired three new team members. They are Maggie Hagan as operations coordinator, Kurt Knepshield as district manager, and Jerry Pearson as revenue manager for IRE.

 

Midcoast Closes South Carolina Deal

 

Michael Morrison of Midcoast Properties, Inc. represented the seller in the sale of Downtown Storage in Inman, South Carolina. The facility was sold to an in-state buyer.

 

Urban, Foushee Plan Seattle Project

 

Entities affiliated with construction firm Foushee and Associates and Urban Storage purchased a building in Seattle, Washington’s industrial district for $29.2 million. The seller was affiliated with American Life, Inc., a real estate company.

 

Maya Bets on Connecticut

 

Maya Capital Partners completed a storage facility in Norwalk, Connecticut. The property is operating under the Public Storage brand.

 

U-Haul Opens Florida Conversion

 
U-Haul Moving & Storage of the Emerald Coast has opened in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The property was formerly a J.M Fields discount store and a Kmart.

 

NSA Promotes Kenyon

 

National Storage Affiliates Trust promoted Tiffany S. Kenyon to executive vice president and chief legal officer. Kenyon was previously EVP and general counsel. She joined NSA in 2018.

 

CBRE Brokers Washington Deal

 

CBRE brokered the sale of Capitol City Storage in Olympia, Washington, for $7.4 million. CBRE represented the seller, TJY Properties, LLC. The buyer was also a private investor.
