Rosewood Buys 16

 

Rosewood Property Company has acquired 16 self storage facilities across 12 states from Extra Space Storage, which will continue to Serve as the property manager for the majority of the acquired facilities. The properties are located in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. Extra Space was represented by the Newmark Group, Inc. team of Aaron Swerdlin, Kenneth Cox and Taucha Hogue. Rosewood procured financing with Talonvest Capital.

 

Marcus & Millichap Closes 2 Deals

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the following deals:

• Your Extra Attic, a six-property self storage portfolio located in metro Atlanta, Georgia, for $67 million. Stacey Gorman represented the seller, Your Extra Attic, and represented the buyer, Reliant Real Estate Management, a Midgard Self Storage affiliate. The properties are in Cumming, Sugar Hill, Acworth, Milton and Smyrna.

• Brazos Moving & Storage, a CofO deal in Bryan, Texas. Dave Knobler and Charles "Chico" LeClaire had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, Cody Hall, College Station-based developer. 

 

StorQuest Gives to Colorado Fire Fund

 

StorQuest is donating $1 from every rental at 28 Colorado self storage facilities to support the Boulder County Community Foundation’s Wildfire Fund. The Marshall Fire on Dec. 30 destroyed over 1,000 structures, and 35,000 people were forced to evacuate from Boulder County, including the city of Louisville where StorQuest’s facility is located.

 

Boardwalk Collection Goes to Spartan

 

The Colliers Self Storage Group brokered the sale of the Boardwalk Storage portfolio of eight properties with two locations in Chattanooga, Tennessee, four locations in the greater Macon, Georgia area and two locations in Dahlonega, Georgia. Storagemaster, Inc. and Boardwalk Development Group sold the portfolio to Spartan Investment Group for $45 million. Ashley Compton represented the seller.

 

SkyView Brokers 5 Deals

 

SkyView Advisors brokered the following transactions:

• AAA Safe n Sound Storage in the Provo-Orem, Utah metro area. Mike Brandon and Ryan Clark represented the seller in the transaction.

• The Oklahoma City Self Storage portfolio of three facilities. Scott Schoettlin and Clark represented the seller.

• I Stor-It portfolio in the Springfield, Missouri metro area. Aaron Sanchez and Clark represented the seller in the transaction.

• Extra Space Storage (managed) in Hartford, Connecticut. Sanchez and Clark represented the seller.

• Life Storage (managed) in Carrollton, Texas. Zachary Urow and Clark represented the seller.

 

Andover Buys Boat, RV Storage

 

Andover Properties acquired Ultimate Boat and RV Storage in the Phoenix, Arizona, area. The property will be rebranded under the Storage King USA brand, which includes 122 facilities.

 

Mississippi Association Names Director

 

The Mississippi Self Storage Owners Association has named Heather McCombs as its new executive director. As the organization celebrates 20 years, it has a new website and new logo. MSSOA is actively looking for volunteers, speakers and sponsors. The organization needs a volunteer treasurer.

 

Bowman Joins Store Space

 

Herby Bowman has joined Store Space Self Storage as senior director, business development. Bowman will grow the brand's third-party partnerships and contribute to the company's acquisition portfolio. Bowman was previously director of business development for Public Storage.

 

Tennessee Store Trades in 1031 Exchange

 

Berkshire Hathaway brokered the sale of Markham Self Storage in Jackson, Tennessee.  Cameron Vale, Andrew Plunkett and Parker Sweet represented the undisclosed buyer and secured the private, 1031-exchange buyer.
