SecureSpace opens New Jersey site

 

Redondo Beach, California-based SecureSpace Self Storage has opened a new facility in Kearny, New Jersey. The site was acquired in 2018 by InSite Property Group, the parent company of SecureSpace.

 

G5 to host free marketing forum

 

G5 is sponsoring Futr Forum, a virtual event for multifamily, self storage and senior living companies October 13-14. The free virtual event is an opportunity to hear from industry leaders who will share how to adapt, lead change and drive better results through smarter marketing. Attendees can join live or watch a recorded session later. Registration is free.

 

Insurer sponsors Charity Storage

 

Best Self Storage Insurance will be a sustainer level sponsor of Charity Storage with a donation of $3,000. All sponsors allow Charity Storage to distribute 90% of auction funds to qualified charity beneficiaries. Mario Macaluso also returns as a member of the board of directors. Macaluso is the founder of BSSI and a founding member of SBOA Tenant Insurance.

 

DC-area storage adds online rentals

 

Self Storage Plus has launched a contactless leasing process called Plus Leasing. The rental option offers a way for customers to take care of their storage needs on the website and enroll in autopay and read about insurance policies. Self Storage Plus has locations in the greater Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland, area.

 

Patagon opens Maine Life Storage

 

Patagon Ventures, LLC completed the construction of a self storage facility in Portland, Maine. Boardwalk Storage Solutions was the contractor on the project. Di’velept Architecture + Design provided the design, and the facility will be managed by Life Storage, Inc.

 

AAA Mini sells in Texas

 

Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of AAA Mini Storage in Big Spring, Texas. Sean M. Delaney, senior vice president investments and Brandon Karr, senior vice president investments, and Danny Cunningham, first vice president investments, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private Chicago-based investor.  The buyer, a fund manager with self storage facilities in twelve states, was also secured by Karr, Cunningham, and Delaney.

 

Colorado Springs retail to be converted

 

In Self Storage has purchased a former Toys R Us in Colorado Springs and plans to convert it to self storage, according to The Gazette. The building has been vacant for two years. Denver-based In Self Storage paid $1.5 million for the building and plans to open the facility by next summer.

 

MoreStor opens in Wichita

 

Wichita, Kansas-based Landvest Corporation has completed a new self storage project in the eastern side of the city. The new project will operate under the brand MoreStor. Landvest partnered with Nic Howell and Mike Brand on the location.

 

StorQuest expands to Bothell

 

StorQuest Self Storage has opened a new location in Bothell, Washington.

William Warren Group owns StorQuest.

 

Storage approved at New York retail center

 

White Hickory Associates LLC, a related entity of the Robert Martin Company, has received approval from the Town of Greenburgh, New York, to build a self storage facility within the Premier Plaza Shopping Center, according to the Westchester and Fairfield County Business Journal.

The self storage building would be constructed in a section of the shopping center  property that had been previously approved for the construction of an office building. The footprint would be the same as had been planned for the office building. The shopping center was built in 2012.

 

Merit Hill buys Massachusetts storage

 

Merit Hill Capitol has purchased three parcels in Saugus, Massachusetts, according to Wicked Local. Merit Hill purchased 222 Central Storage for $5.3 million from Joseph and Janet Boccelli. Extra Space Storage will provide management.

 

Catrib joins Pogoda as trainer

 

Pogoda Companies has hired Jihad “Jay” Catrib as payroll and training coordinator. He will create and implement training programs for Pogoda’s self storage portfolio. Catrib holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and was identified by Real8 Group, a real estate and self storage executive search firm.

 

Georgia town approves Life Storage expansion

 

The Woodstock, Georgia, city council has approved the expansion of a Life Storage in the city, according to the Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News.

Life Storage, requested the permits for the expansion and addition of outdoor recreational vehicle storage.
